there are a number of beaches to vacation at but not many historical temples in those areas. why not visit Bangkok for a few days and visit some of the temples here then move to one or more the the beach resorts for single guys pattaya is tops. other wonderful beaches are Krabi (my favorite) “Phuket, Koh Samui, Khao Lak, Hua Hin, Cham Am, and other favorite of mine but not a tourist spot is Chumpon.

You are not likely to see both historical temples and great places near to a beach. In the old days, temples were constructed on dominant ground to dominate the area, as a focus for the people around. And they still do the same these days. Likewise, historical sites were built on locations where the commanders can command his troops, and in those days, the focus were on the eastern and western borders, not from the south where the waters are.
Well, so much for that, as for some place that might just meet your requirement, I will suggest that you look up the province of Petchburi just south of Bangkok. The beach resorts of Cha’am should be nice for you to relax in. It is just next to Hua Hin, in Prachuab Khiri Khan next door.
This place will be near to the former summer palace of the old king, and you can visit the temples nearby too. Even the nature reserve of Kaeng Krachan with its reservoir and restaurants should make good visits.

Visit Ayuttaya and bangkok for historical temples and move to Hua Hin at Prajuavkerekun to stay at beach,very nice than Pattaya, or Surin Islands at Pangkha ,the most beautiful beach ,believe me.

Phuket is a great place for a beach vacation. Get down to Phuket to use it as a base to explore the other islands like Similan islands, Phi Phi islands, and many many many more. Phuket itself has gorgeous beaches and the water is clear, the sand is fine, and this is the ocean we are talking about, not the murky Gulf seawater at Koh Samui or Hua Hin.
Phuket is convenient and full of activities. If you get bored with the crowd, get a boat over to Coral Island, Phi Phi island, Racha island, Koh Yao island where you can literally mingle with the locals and live like a local fisherman.

If you’re a single hetro guy goto Pattaya, but Phuket has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
