Where Can I Have A Nice, Inexpensive Beach Vacation?

My boyfriend and I live near Buffalo, NY and want to take a vacation any time this year in the months between February and June. (We don’t want to vacation for four months. Feb-June is the open time slot.)
We’re just finishing college, so money is somewhat tight. Is there a nice city in Florida or an island we could go to for 5-7 days that isn’t too expensive? I want a nice,warm beach and decent hotel, but it doesn’t have to be a Sandals resort or anything that’s $500 a night.
Thanks for any help! I really want to do something nice with him before he starts his Army active duty.
