Planning A Florida Vacation. Which Beach Should We Go To?

We are planning a vacation in July. We went to Daytona last year. We are thinging about St Petersburg area. I just don’t know whether to stay in a hotel on St. Pete’s or Clearwater. Also, I havent made up my mind yet. If anyone had any other suggestions, I’d be open. We just want a very swimmable, safe, fun beach.
