I've been their and I had sooo much fun. If you go to the Caravel Hotel it's very close to the beach and there's an indoor/outdoor pool. For packing, I took clothes, and the usual. (toothbrush, towels, beach towels, etc...) Hope you have a good vacation!:)

It depends on how long you're staying, where you're staying, and how you're getting there. If you're driving, you can take more, and if you're staying at a rented condo or apartment instead of a hotel, you'll need to check what is provided and what you need to bring (i.e. sheets, dishes, food, etc.). If you're staying at a hotel, you won't need to worry about any of that. In terms of clothing, everything in Myrtle Beach is casual, so you won't need to worry about dressy clothes even for dinner or shows - but you might want to bring some layers, like light jackets or sweaters, if you're going to any of the indoor theaters or attractions, since they can be overly air-conditioned at times. If you're planning on spending a lot of time at the actual beach itself, bring beach towels and your kids' toys if possible, so you won't have to spend your time and money buying them there. If you do need to buy necessities like sunscreen, towels, etc. once you're there, do it at a grocery or drug store, since they often have the same things as the beach shops, but cheaper.
Aside from the actual beach, there are many attractions in Myrtle Beach - you will never find more miniature golf courses (or regular ones) in one area anyplace else! If you enjoy touristy kinds of things like the Hard Rock Cafe, go the Broadway on the Beach - it's a big shopping and entertainment complex where you could easily spend most of a day. If you've been to Orlando, it's similar to Downtown Disney or Universal Escape - and actually has some of the same stores and restaurants! Make sure to budget before you go, though - it can add up quick, especially with kids! If you want a break from all the commercial stuff, about half an hour south of Myrtle is Brookgreen Gardens, a huge garden that used to be the grounds of a plantation that now has sculptures, flowers, and animal exhibits. It's very relaxing, and your ticket will get you in for the entire week for one price.
Have a great trip!

take plenty of summer clothes for the daytime and light sweaters for night. sunscreen. hats. sunglasses. beach towels or, lawn chairs. a cooler. evening wear for dinners out. some people are into wearing the water shoes that you can buy at local stores - i've never seen the need for these. take some buckets and shovels for the kids to play with/build sand castles.
i haven't been there in quite some time but you won't have any problems finding things to do. freelance it.
great choice for a family vacation. you'll love it and long to go back!

check local websites to get good ideas on places to eat.pack plenty of big towels, sunscreen, chairs.too much to rent them.
websites have good info on other things to do beside being on beach all day, like jet skiing,parasailing.etc.may find something age appropriate for the girls, amusement park rides, and such.
don't overpack and have a great time!

Swimming suits, beach towels, some nice clothes for going out to dinner, comfortable clothes for doing some of the kiddy activities like miniature golf. Myrtle Beach does have a nice beach, but its super touristy, so there are miles of cheesy things like mini golf, seafood buffets, go-carts, etc. But its fun, Im sure the kids will like it, and so will you. There is a House of Blues there- see if there is a concert there that you or the kids would like to see while you are in town.
