There are plenty of places to eat and a mall and its walkable. Chesapeake's Greenbrier area is strip malls and chain restaurants and is not pedestrian friendly. The traffic is some of the worst in the area. Why not stay at the Oceanfront? There are plenty of hotels on the boardwalk (Atlantic Ave.) and in all price ranges. The newest and nicest is the Hilton at the oceanfront. Plus if you stay at the Oceanfront hotels, you don't have to worry about traffic and parking. Norfolk has a few nice hotels downtown, but then you have to drive to the beach, deal with traffic and find parking. Hope this helps.
